From The Tooth Fairy

Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Cupid...these are just a few of the mythical beings that make being a kid fun. Who ranks number one on our list you ask?  The Tooth Fairy.  The little prince is on the verge of losing his very first tooth - how exciting!

I knew that I wanted to make this experience as special as possible, so to the internet I went to search for ideas{seriously, what did we do before we could hit a search engine???}.  I found this great list from Under the Table and Dreaming -- 10 Tooth Fairy Traditions and Ideas.  One stop shopping...can we say jackpot!

On the list were these awesome Tooth Fairy bags from the Purl bee.  Simple to make and best of all, I didn't have to spend a dime since I had everything on hand.  Now, let me be completely honest with you -- I HATE sewing.  I consider myself rather crafty but sewing is my nemesis. Just the idea of sewing makes me sad because I'm not good at it and I cringe whenever there is a project that I love but involves needle, thread and worst of all a sewing machine.  These bags were too cute and I really wanted one for him, so I pulled up my big girl panties and decided I could do it!

The bag and the tooth on the front are made from felt {click here for the step-by-step directions from the Purl bee}.  My sewing wasn't great but I was proud of the end result.

Now that the bag was complete, time to move on to a special letter from the Tooth Fairy.  Another cruise around the internet and I found a few free tooth fairy letters that you could print but none were quite what I was looking for, I would need to create what I wanted.  I copied a couple pictures from the internet and began writing out his one-of-a-kind tooth fairy letter.  Here's what I came up with.

The front of the letter

The back of the letter

His tooth is so close to falling out that I wanted to make sure that he received his bag and letter before the big day.  I picked him up from the bus stop and told him something special had been left for him at home and boy was he excited when he saw that it was something from the Tooth Fairy {he's been obsessing over that tooth for weeks now}.  I thought my goose was cooked when he said "how did she leave this here?" {Uh-oh...think fast mommy} I calmly said, "I thought you remembered that she was magical?"  To which he answered "Oh yeah, that's right - just like Santa Claus". {Okay, crisis averted...whew!}

A trip to the bank for some gold dollars and now we are all ready for the Tooth Fairy's arrival.  I love creating these memories for him and helping to make his childhood just a little sweeter.  Crafting the best from my heart to his!
